Little Damage In High Wind
Despite heavy downpours of rain and high winds that raged through the surrounding vicinity Monday afternoon and evening, sotrm damage was reported very light.
A tornado was to have touched down near the Rosendale area, but no damage was reported.
One of the hardest hit areas was in and about Kewaskum. Sixty feet of a metal roof atop a barn on the Ivan Buss property about two miles north of the village was lifted and thrown about 150 feet into the ditch along Highway 45.
A 30-foot section of the grandstand at Kewaskum Elementary School was lifted about eight inches off its foundation and the top row of cement blocks was dislodged. A tree was blown over and went through a window at the Bernard Seil home, 318 Forest Ave.
Six large oak trees were blown over near the east city limits of Horicon. Mrs. Leo Stohs, motel owner, reported that the high winds damaged a number of screens and windows at her establishment and blew lawn chairs into a marsh area at the rear of the building. Many television antennas were reported down or bent.
The side of a two-car garage at the John Sternweis residence, Horicon, was completely blown out.
