Buncombe, WI Tornado Aug 1870
A wind storm swept over Galena, on Thursday, doing considerable damage in a small way. At Buncomb, Wis., twelve miles north of Galena, the storm amounted to a tornado. It took a course from southwest to norhteast, and , although only about four rods in width, it carried destruction to everything in it path. It tore away a portion of Mr. U. M. GILLET'S house, carried off barns and fences, broke down large trees, and lifted a heavy wagon-box over two high fences, landing it forty rods from where it started.
