SALEM WIPED OUT.

West Virginia Town Suffers $200,000 Conflagration.

PARKERSBURG, W. Va., Dec. 15.---The fire which started last night at Salem, seventy miles east of here on the Baltimore & Ohio railroad, destroyed practically the entire business part of that city. In all fifty-six houses, stores and other buildings were destroyed. The loss is estimated at over $200,000, with little insurance. The fire originated in a newspaper office but the cause is unknown.
