Stowe, VT Auto-Buggy Accident, Jul 1918

Auto Crashes into Team.

Joseph Svedin, of Stowe, driving a large and valuable horse belonging to his father, I. E. Vvedim(?), was entering the bridge over the Waterbury river at the village from the east Friday morning when an automobile coming down crashed into the rig striking the horse’s knees and shoulder and breaking the thills and wheel of the buggy. The driver of the car was M. J. Elliott, of Rutland, representing the Grimm Co. It is claimed that the car was running at a rapid rate. The turn at the bridge makes the corner a dangerous one. It is feared that the horse may be seriously injured.
