BARN BURNED IN ROYALTON

Nine Cows, Three Calves Perished, and a Quantity of Hay Was Destroyed.

(Special to The Messenger)

South Rayalton, Dec. 13.--A barn owned by Albert Blake was destroyed by fire about 5 o'clock this morning. Nine cows and three calves perished. All the hay, a cream separator and power, and a lumber wagon were burned. A few calves and hogs were saved.

Mr. Blake's lantern exploded while he was feeding his stock. He was insured for about $900, which partially covers the loss. A few years ago a similar loss occurred in which Mr. Blake's barn was burned, the fire at that time being caused by a lantern tipping over.
