Brownwood, TX Tornado, Jan 1907

House Turned Over and Barn Blown Away at Brownwood.

Special to the News.

Brownwood, Tex., Jan. 18.---During last night some time a norther reached here with a light rain. The wind was not noticed to be blowing harder than is usual, but at 6 o'clock this morning it evidently increased in violence in the south part of town, in the further part of the Coggin addition, where it wrecked the house of W. A. Ewing, moving it some fifteen feet and turning it on its end. Mr. Ewing had just started a fire in his heater and called his wife when demolished his furniture, dishes, etc. A neighbor's barn was completely blown away. Those living in the neighborhood say it must have been a small cyclone, as near neighbors did not note the wind blowing harder than is usual.
