DAMAGE AT CALVERT
Calvert, Robertson Co., Tex., Feb. 8.--A heavy wind and rain storm visited this city at 11:30, demolishing houses, trees, etc. Among those whose premises were damaged was Dr. John McLendon's drug store. The roof was blown off and the contents of the store thoroughly drenched with water. It was damaged about $200.
A portion of the compress was blown across the railroad crack, delaying the south bound passenger train. Jerry Walker's house was totally destroyed. One of Chas. Holzwasser's houses was destroyed. Willis Griffin's house, was blown off its blocks. Lewis Brown's house was blown down and destroyed. On E. S. Peter's plantation a house was unroofed and several cabins and corn cribs blown down. No lives were lost.
