Hillsboro, TX Stock Barn Fire, Jan 1894
BARN AND FINE STOCK.
Hillsboro, Hill Co., Tex., Jan. 2.----The Jarrett stock barn, three miles east of town, containing twenty head of horses, including Kentucky Lambert and Chester Boy, burned to-night. The dwelling, about 100 yards distant, was burned also. Only the household effects were saved. The loss is not less than $35,000. Amount of insurance not known. The fire was incendiary and was not discovered till the entire barn was aflame. The foreman was sitting in a lighted room and knew nothing of the fire until attracted by the roaring of the burning building. Col. Jarrett is in Tennessee.
