THE FIRE RECORD
AT M'KINNEY, TEXAS
McKINNEY, Feb. 4. -- About 10 o'clokc tonight the store of Hill & Webster, grocers, adjoining the Collin County National Bank, was discovered to be on fire. The store and the bank both burned; also some small frame buildings in the rear of the store. The fire at midnight is thought to be under control. Mr. J. P. Dowell's hardware stock was damaged by removal at least $1000; also Benonhan & Nale, second-hand store $400. All was covered by insurance. It was with great difficulty that the stable of Fitzhugh Clarity was saved. McKinney has no fire company. It is too late to secure acourate [sic] list of losses, but the aggregate is large.
