Mother Hurt Jumping From Moving Auto to Save Infant Daughter
Special to The News.
Wichita Falls, Tex., May 27--Mrs. B. L. Davidson of Burkburnett was seriously if not fatally injured tonight when she jumped from a moving automobile after an infant daughter who had fallen from the machine. She is in a local hospital and physicians are doubtful over her chances to recover. Her skull was fractured.
The accident occurred two miles this side of Burkburnett on the paved highway between that city and Wichita Falls. The baby, which Mrs. Davidson was holding in her arms, wriggled out of its mother's grasp and fell on some soft dirt at the side of the road. Mrs. Davidson jumped frantically from the car to rescue the child and fell on the pavement. The baby was not injured.
