Dad Didn’t Know It Happened
Runnels Tot, 2, Run Over By Row Binder and Killed
Ballinger, Aug. 11. (RNS)-ROBERT WILLIAN HASENAK, two and a half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Hasenak, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday at the Ballinger Clinic Hospital from injuries received when a row binder ran over him near Rowena.
The child suffered a fractured skull and other injuries Wednesday afternoon in an accident in a field near the family’s farm home in the Cross Roads community. His parents believed the child followed his father to the field, unknown to members of the family.
The father said he had made two round in the field with the binder when he saw the child lying in a row. He ran to the child and found him unconscious. The child was rushed to the hospital here.
The body will be taken to Miles, where funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph’s Church.
The Rev. W.F. Rosen will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery under direction of the Lacy Funeral Home.
The child was born Dec. 16, 1946, in San Angelo. Besides the parents, survivors are a brother, Marvin; one sister, Dolores; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hasenak, of San Angelo; and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sechwertner of Miles.
