Levy Bros.’ Store Damaged - Incendiarism (sic) Is Suspectd (sic)

Houston, Tex., July 16. – At 6:20 o’clock this morning smoke was discovered coming out of the windows of the building occupied by Levy Bros. on Main street. Chemical engines Nos. 3 and 4 were on the spot promptly and streams were soon got through the second-story windows, both front and rear. The loss is probably over $10,000 and may amount to $15,000, it being fully covered by insurance with nearly all the agencies in the city. The handsome three-story brick building is owned by T. H. SCANLAN. The slight damage is also covered by insurance. Cause supposed to be incendiary (sic).
