Lanark, PA Auto Crash Into Pole, Dec 1968

An auto struck a utility pole near Allentown Sunday, killing five teenagers and critically injuring a sixth.
Police Chief Eugene Holveck of Upper Saucon Township, said the car "just disintegrated" when it smashed into the utility pole on the Limeport-Lanark Highway south of Allentown.
The car split the utility pole and carried half of it 200 feet down the road before smashing into a tree.
Killed were, CAREY KOCH, 17; CHARLES ROMING, 15; KATHERINE BRUBAKER, 15; and THERESA OHL, 14, all of Coopersburg, Lehigh County, and ROGER HASSICK, 17, of Bethlehem.
The sixth youth, ANTHONY MIRRA, 17, of Bethlehem, was listed in critical condition at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown.
The five were among Pennsylvania's most recent highway victims.
