THE FALL OF A SCAFFOLD.

FATALLY INJURES FIVE MEN AT WORK ON A RAILROAD BRIDGE.

Saltsburg, Pa., Sept. 14. -- A swinging scaffold under the railroad bridge here was crowded with nine workmen Saturday, who were about quitting when the ropes broke, precipitating the entire party into the river bed, 50 feet below.
The men fell in a confused mass on the sharp stones, four of them being fatally injured, while the rest were more or less bruised.
Those probably fatally injured are:
J. C. REPERGLE.
S. W. REED.
W. D. WILSON.
GEORGE FLEMING.
JAMES CUNNINGHAM.
The swinging ropes were old and dangerously weak for such a load of men and materials.
