Chester, PA Darby Creek Drowning Rescue, Jan 1903

CHESTER—While skating on Darby Creek, Agnes Preston, aged 14, broke through the ice and was going down for the third time when Michael Delaney, aged 15, leaped into the creek, and grasping the drowning girl, succeeded in pulling her to the shore. She was finally resuscitated. A collection is being raised to purchase a gold medal to be presented to young Delaney.
