LIVE WIRE AND FALL KILL LINEMAN CHIEF
George Bennett, of North Wales, Victim of Accident Near Jenkintown
Shocked by a live wire while repairing damage caused by a rainstorm, George Bennett, of North Wales, lost his life yesterday afternoon in a thirty-foot fall from a telegraph pole on Township Line road, near Jenkintown. He died as he was carried into the Abington Hospital.
Bennett was a head lineman for the Philadelphia Suburban Gas & Electric Company and was working with a crew when the accident happened. His comrades stopped an automobile and carried him to the hospital. Physicians there said death was caused by the combined effect of the shock and the fall.
