Bucyrus, OH Lightning Strike, Aug 1905

Strange Freak of Lightning.

Bucyrus, O.-During a storm lightning struck an iron hitching post in front of the David Krauter residence. The post was destroyed and a part of the bolt jumped to the kitchen, where Mrs. Krauter was cooking. A knife in her hand attracted the lightning and she was severely shocked. The main part of the bolt jumped from the hitching post to a bed of white dahlias, in the center of which stood a single red blossom. None of the white flowers was injured in the least, but the read one and its stalk were completely wiped out.
