“Injuries Fatal to Lima Man”

Injuries suffered four weeks ago in an automobile accident caused the death Monday morning of Willis Edward Hamby, 37, of 1118 S. Atlantic Av. Death was due to blood poisoning which resulted from a crushed leg. The accident occurred when the automobile in which Hamby was riding with Curtiss Lee, Harrod, went in a 12 foot ditch on the St. John's rd. three miles south of Lima. Hamby was pinned under the car as it overturned sustaining a crushed right leg. Bright lights on a passing machine were said to have been responsible for the mishap. Surviving are the widow; one son, Henry and three daughters, Mary, Thelma and Wilma, all at home. Four sisters, Molly Stone, Oakdale, Tenn.; Augusta Robinson, Danville, Ky.; Hilda Conners and Mabel Hatley, Rockwood, Tenn., also are left. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
