BADLY SHOCKED BY LIGHTNING

Men Working in a Hay Field Near Caledonia.

Will Monnette of Marion and Tom Garten and John McCamber, employed on the Alfred Johnson farm, five miles northeast of Caledonia, suffered a shock of lightning during the electrical storm Wednesday afternoon.

When the storm came up the men crawled under a large hay stack which they were engaged in making. There was a blinding flash of lightning and it was some time before they recovered from the shock received. The horses, which were standing nearby, were also affected one of them falling to the ground. The men escaped without any serious injury.
