Boy Killed When Hit By Automobile
Donald P. Geiger, 7, of 1156 Sharon avenue, was killed almost instantly at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon when he ran into the side of a car driven by Carl D. Besser, 33, of 737 Pine street, police reported. The accident happened near the boy;s home.
Police said a neighbor had called the Geiger youth across the street to make a trip to a grocery store. A city bus had stopped to unload passengers and the boy ran behind the bus and into Besser's auto.
A Keck ambulance took the youth to Bethesda hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival by Dr. S. S. Daw, Muskingum county coroner. Death resulted from internal injuries, Dr. Daw said.
Besser was exonerated of all blame, police reported.
Young Geiger is survived by his father, William Geiger of 1156 Sharon avenue; his mother, Mrs. Mary Reiner of Zanesville; a twin brother, Ronald of the home; and three sisters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Clements and Barbara and Iris Geiger, all of the home.
The body has been removed to the Keck funeral home where arrangements are being completed.
