Dayton, OH Frame Dwelling Fire, Mar 1957

DAYTON FIRE FATAL TO 3.

Dayton, Ohio (AP) -- Two children and a 66-year-old woman burned to death today when fire swept a two-story 8-room frame dwelling on Dayton's west side, firemen said.
Another child was burned seriously and nine other
persons in the house escaped without injury.
The fire victims were:
SANDRA OSBORNE, 2.
JAMES OSBORNE, 3, children of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Osborne.
MRS. WILLIE BELLE JACKSON, 66, a friend of the family.
THURMAN JUDKINS, 3, son of Mrs. Verdell Judkins and a cousin of the OSBORNE children, was burned seriously and taken to a hospital.
Cause of the fire was not determined. The children's grandmother, Mrs. Madeline Osborne, 53, told firemen she was in the kitchen when she noticed the curtains on fire. She sounded an alarm, and the adults in the house and some other children managed to get out before flames blocked their passage.
