Binghamton, NY Truck Crash Kills Two, Mar 1953

Binghamton (AP) -- Two truckmen were killed last night when their vehicle plunged 75 down an embankment, crashed onto the Erie Railroad tracks and caught fire.
The railroad was forced to reroute westbound traffic for about four hours, until the tracks had been cleared.
RICHARD HOGEBOOM, 25, of Chenango Forks and RUSSELL ARNOLD, 18, of Binghamton were killed, apparently by the collision, State Police said. The two were riding in the tractor unit of a tractor-trailer, on their way to pick up a milk tanker.
