JOCKEY CRUSHED BENEATH TRAIN
New York, Nov. 14 -- Ground beneath the wheels of a Brighton Beach elevated train at the Elm Place station, Brooklyn, T. H. (TOMMY) BURNS, one of the greatest American jockeys, was killed early today.
The body was so terribly mangled that positive identification was not made for several hours. Cards, letters and other articles found in the clothing, however, indicated that the victim was the famous rider who introduced crouch riding on European tracks.
