Shickley, NE Fighter Plane Crash, Aug 1944
PILOT KILLED IN THUNDERBOLT CRASH.
Shickley, Neb. (AP) -- A P-47 Thunderbolt fighter plane, from the Bruning army air field, crashed in a corn field two miles east of here Tuesday killing the pilot, Second Lt. ROBERT G. DICKEY, Connellsville, Pa., Col. C. D. McAllister, Bruning army air field commander has announced.
Lieutenant DICKEY is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eva Jean Dickey of Connellsville. Cause of the crash is unknown.
