St. Louis, MO Golfer Killed by Lightning, May 1908

BOLT OF LIGHTNING KILLED GOLF PLAYER

St. Louis, Mo., May 26.---W. H. Howard, a wealthy commission merchant, was killed by lightning yesterday during a rainstorm which swept over St. Louis. Mr. Howard, who was a member of the Glen Echo Golf Club, left off play and sought the shelter of a tree when it began to rain. The lightning ran down the tree, killing him instantly.
