MISSOURI CRASH KILLS 7 YOUTHS.
St. Clair, Mo. (AP) - A grinding crash of a car and a crane-carrier killed seven teenagers in the car at an intersection on U.S. 66 just east of St. Clair, Mo., near St. Louis, Friday night.
The victims were identified by the Missouri Highway Patrol as PAUL DAVID CLARK, 17; STEVEN BRUCE HINCHCLIFF, 17; GILBERT EDWIN TRAUTMANN, 17; ALICE ELKINS, 16; and BRENDA CALDWELL, 16, all of St. Clair, and ROBERT STEINBACH, 17, and CARL RAY LOVE, 15, both of Sullivan.
The driver of the truck was identified at Peter Mere of Huntington, N.Y. The patrol said he was not injured.
Troopers said the car skidded off a side road onto U.S. 66 and into the path of the truck.
