Platte City, MO Automobile Collision, June 1933


Kansas City, June 27 (AP) -- BERT HESSEL, 37, Clay County farmer, was killed in an automobile collision southeast of Platte City today. The other eight persons in the two motor cars involved in the accident were injured.
They are W. C. CRAWFORD, cashier of the Citizens Bank of Liberty, scalp wounds and body bruises; W. N. COLLINS, athletic coach at William Jewell College, probably broken ribs and a bruised shoulder; HENRY IRMINIGER, farmer near Liberty, minor cuts.
ORSNIO MARRIOTT of Versailles, Mo., unconscious, with head injury, left leg broken and internal injuries; MRS. LENNIE SPURLOCK, Versailles, dangerous head injury, taken to a hospital at Leavenworth; EDWARD MARRIOTT, Tulsa, Okla., cuts and bruises; MRS. HELEN BALES, Sedalia, concussion of the brain; ERLINE BALES, 3, broken right leg.
HESSEL was the driver of one of the cars; MARRIOTT of the other.
