Lake Minnetonka, MN drownings, Oct 1859

Six Persons Drowned.

ST. PAUL, Friday, Oct. 21.

Mr. STONE, his wife and two children, together with NATHANIEL BUTTERFIELD and LORING LOVELLING, were drowned in Lake Minnetonka, thirty miles west of this city, last Tuesday. We learn that Mr. STONE had determined to move his family further down the lake, and had employed BUTTERFIELD and LOVELLING for that purpose. About dusk the boat capsized under the pressure of a sudden gale, when the whole party was drowned.
