FIRE CHIEF'S CAR DAMAGED IN CRASH

Collides with Another Auto on Main St.

A rear fender of the new Buick touring car recently purchased for the use of Fire Chief John D. Saulnier was bent and the steering mechanism of a Chevrolet truck owned by Clarence P. Billings of River street was smashed when the machines collided on Main street opposite Bank street at about 3:45 o'clock this morning. The fire department car with Fireman William E. Murphy at the wheel was being driven down Main street from the Hose 5 station on Union street to the department headquarters on State when the cars came together from the curb opposite Bank street on Main. Both drivers reported the mishap to the police.
