Church Badly Damaged by Lightning and Other Property Suffers

Hyannis, Mass., June 1.--St. Francis Xavier church parish house, situated on South street, was badly damaged by lightning during a thunder storm. The greater part of the front of the building was torn off, the gallery and organ demolished and the walls badly cracked.

The storm was one of the worst to sweep this section of the cape in years. Thousands of dollars' worth of property was damaged and the telephone and telegraph systems were tied up for many hours.
