Portland, ME Green-streed House Fire, Mar 1853
Fire at Portland.
PORTLAND, Monday, March 28.
The Green-street House in this city, kept by Mr. SHAW, with its stables, and a cooper's shop in the rear, were destroyed by fire last night. The house of S. H. KING, and some other buildings were also considerably damaged. The tavern was insured for $2,000 at Hartford. A fireman named T. J. C. LONGLEY, was seriously injured by the falling of walls.
