Traffic Crash Kills Charles J. Odgen, Sr.

Funeral services for Charles J. Ogden, II, of 4011 Gingerwood Drive, Louisville, who was killed in a traffic mishap on the Watterson Expressway near Taylor Boulevard Thursday, November 6, were held the following Saturday in St. Martha Church. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Ogden, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, was a passenger in an auto that crashed into a utility pole after swerving to avoid hitting another car. He was returning home with two Louisville policemen after attending a meeting of the Louisville Police Officers Association at the State Fairgrounds. The policemen were injured but not seriously. Ogden, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, had donated 80 pints of blood to the Louisville Red Cross Chapter in addition to other donations while he was in the Navy. An emblem that he received for his Louisville donations was buried with him.
He was a junior partner of the Bargain Supply Co. in Louisville. Surviving are his wife, a son, two daughters, his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Mr. Ogden was a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve Spurling.
