KENTUCKY WRECK TAKES FIVE LIVES.

Nortonville, Ky. (UP) -- Five persons were killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision on U.S. 41 near here late Sunday afternoon.
In one car, the dead were identified as JEROME LURIE, 49, Oak Park, Ill., and his wife, MRS. TILLIE LURIE, about 35, Miami Beach, Fla.
In the other car, the victims were JOHN WALTER SMITH, Bridgeport, Ala., and his niece and nephew, JANICE LEE SMITH, 2, and GEORGE ROGER SMITH, 3, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.
State police said two of the three injured persons were the parents of the dead children, MR. and MRS. GEORGE N. SMITH. Another daughter of the couple also was hurt.
A light rain had been falling in the area all day, and the road was wet and slick, but there was no snow nor ice on the pavement.
