Elk Horn, IA Town Fire, Mar 1910


Elk Horn, Ia. -- The town of Elk Horn, Shelby county, had another disastrous fire. Fire broke out in a bowling alley and quickly spread to the hardware store of JERRY MILLER to the implement house directly south, owned by LARSON & BOOS. Much damage was also done to the stock of goods owned by J. J. JAMES, the goods being carried out and much injured. The total losses by the fire will be between $5,000 and $10,000, with a fair amount of insurance.
This is Elk Horn's second bad fire within a month.
