Zionville, IN Store Fire, Jan 1896

$12,500 LOSS.

Several Stores Destroyed by Fire at Zionville, Sunday.

LEBANON, Ind., Jan. 6.---Fire broke out about 8 o'clock last night in the large mercantile establishment of Harvey & Cotton, at Zionsville. The entire stock was ablaze when first discovered and in a short time the buildings adjoining were are fire. The facilities for fighting fire in the town are meager, so much so that it looked for time as if the place would burn up. It is supposed that clerks who were in the store yesterday working on the books possibly threw lighted cigars stubs on the floor.
