Chicago, IL Airliner Crash Kills 22, July 1955

Stewardess Killed.
Stewardess MARY TEEL of Dallas also was killed. Co-pilot O. W. HANKS, a native of Des Moines, was seriously injured.
GEORGE BORNEMAN, 40, of suburban La Grange Park, found the body of his wife at the crash scene. He feared, his two young daughters also were dead, but after hours of searching the wreckage was notified thay had been taken to hospitals with injuries. They were returning from a visit to Austin, Tex., and BORNEMAN had gone to the airport to meet them.

Chicago, July 17 (AP) -- This is a list of the identified dead and injured in the crash of a Braniff Airways plane at Chicago today:

LOUIS CLARK GILLEY, 21, Wichita, Kan.
PHILIP T. VEESART, 21, Chicago.
J. A. THORNBERRY, age and address unknown.
JAMES WHIPPLE, 27, Big Spring, Tex.
GEORGE HOFFMAN, JR., 20, San Antonio, Tex.
Cpl. ROBERT L. YOUNG, Rockford, Ill.
CHARLES E. NUNLEY, 45, Steubenville, Ohio.
MRS. DOROTHY HANEY, 51, 3904 Wallwerth Dr., Toledo, Ohio.
Six of the victims were tentatively identified late Sunday as R. BENNING, MR. and MRS. VAN BULLIS, LEE CASTRO, ALLEN HOOD and MRS. CHARLES NUNLEY. No addresses were given.
Texans injured included:
ORVIN W. HANKS, 36, Dallas, co-pilot, compound fracture right arm, serious.
MRS. LOTTIE CLARK THOMAS, 62, Dallas, internal injuries, serious.
Pfc. GARY GLEN GOODNER, 21, Dallas, shoulder injuries.
MRS. BLANCHE ROGERS, 56, Austin, Tex., scalp cut.
