Boy, 13, Burned While Playing Near Bonfire
Jack Turner, 13-year-old-son of Mrs. Grace Turner, 509 South 3rd street, was painfully burned about the hands and face while playing near a bonfire in a dump in the 600 block Cedar Street yesterday afternoon.
According to the hospital report of the accident, the boy was playing with several companions and kicked a can into the bonfire. The flames flared up suddenly, scorching his face and hands.
Although he was reported in considerable pain when he was admitted to Rockford hospital at 4:05 o’clock yesterday afternoon, attending physicians said the burns are not serious and that he will recover.
