Southport, CT Stable Fire, Mar 1889
BRIDGEPORT, Conn., March 18.----A large wooden structure situated close to the Sound in Southport, Conn., was totally destroyed by fire this evening, together with a large stock of hay and grain. Twenty-five horses were rescued with great difficulty. The fire started in the hayloft, and is supposed to have been the work of an incendiary. The building was owned by Edward Henshaw. The loss will be about $5,000; fully insured.
