Fort Morgan, CO Fiery Collisioni Kills Six, May 1956
FIERY CRASH KILLS SIX.
Fort Morgan, Colo. (UP) - Six persons were killed and two were badly injured last night when two cars met in a fiery crash on State Highway 42, three miles north of Fort Morgan.
Virtually the whole THOMAS G. CORF family was wiped out. Only a 5-year-old daughter survived, and she was in critical condition at Fort Morgan Community Hospital.
The driver of the other car, GEORGE FRITZ, 52, of Fort Morgan, was in serious condition at the hospital with multiple fractures of both legs.
Police said the dead included:
THOMAS G. CORF, 31, a transient oil field worker whose last known residence was Longmont, Colo.;
his wife MARLENE, 24;
and four of their five children - TERRY LEE, 7;
LETA, 2; SANDRA, 1; and an infant boy.
