MARINE FLIER FALLS TO DEATH NEAR HOME

NORWOOD, Colo., May 29--(AP)--Lieut. Glen C. Horndon, 31 year old marine corps flier, crashed to his death today as he circled a small western Colorado airport in a salute to his parents, whom he was flying to visit over the Memorial day week-end.

His father, Al Herndon, southwest Colorado pioneer, was at the field waiting for him and saw the crash.

Witnesses said the plane's motor apparently died and the ship plunged headlong to the ground, smashing through the trees.
