San Francisco, CA Lodging House Fire, Sept 1908

SUFFOCATED TO DEATH IN FIRE

San Francisco, September 24,---One man lost his life, a woman was seriously injured and two firemen were ously[sic] injured and two firemen were hurt at 11 o'clock last night in blaze that partly destroyed a two story lodging house at 211 Gough street.

The dead:

FREDERICK KIRK, a carpenter, 45 years old; suffocated by smoke.

The injured:

William Spinetti, fireman, fell from ladder. James Butts, fireman, fell from ladder.
