Oro Grande, CA Head On Auto Collision, Apr 1958

FIVE KILLED IN DESERT CRASH.

San Bernardino, Calif. (UP) - Five persons, including three women, were killed Monday in a head-on auto collision on U.S. Highway 66 six miles north of Oro Grande.
California Highway Patrol officers said the two cars were traveling at a "tremendous" speed when they smashed together.
JESSE W. SANDERS, Minneapolis, was the only survivor of the grinding crash. He was reported in serious condition at St. Mary's Hospital at Apple Valley.
The dead were identified as FRANK J. KOTNOUR, 70, Huntington Park, Calif., his wife, IDA, and SANDERS' wife, ELLA, 63, all in a car driven by KOTNOUR.
Killed in the other car were HENRY CHARLES LEPP, 55, Milwaukee, driver of the other car, and his wife, ESTHER, 52.
