San Francisco, CA Trolley Car Accident, May 1908

Traveling Salesman Killed and Twenty Hurt at San Francisco When Electric Cars Crash

San Francisco, May 24.-Two crowded trolley cars collided at Davisadero and Sacramento streets at the foot of a steep hill shortly after noon, killing HENRY BAER, a traveling salesman, and injuring 20 other passengers, one fatally and several seriously. The injured were taken to St. Francis hospital near the scene of the accident, where it is believed all excepting one, a child, will recover.

The car on Davisadero street got beyond control of the motorman and dashed down the hill with terrific speed, striking the Sacramento street car just as it rounded the curve onto Davisadero street.
