THIRTY-ONE ARE INJURED IN FALL.
SECTION OF OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATER COLLAPSES AT D.O.K.K. CEREMONIAL.
Monrovia, Calif., July 25 -- (AP) -- Thirty-one men were injured, four seriously when a section of the outdoor amphitheater on Point Lookout collapsed tonight during the holding of the semi-annual ceremonial of the Dramatic Order Knights of Khoraegan, a Knights of Pythias organizaton.
The crash came when the amphitheater was filled with southern California members of the organization witnessing the initiation of 200 neophytes upon the stage in the center of the bowl. Several hundred delegates from Los Angeles were sitting in the section which collapsed. All were thrown to the ground. When the injured had been extricated from the splintered framework and carried away in ambulances and touring caras, officials cancelled the ceremonial and announced it would be held instead August 5.
