MARYSVILLE IS SWEPT BY FIRE.
ONE ENTIRE BLOCK LAID IN ASHES.
LOSS WILL EXCEED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.
FOURTEEN FAMILIES ARE LEFT WITHOUT HOMES AS RESULT OF BLAZE STARTED BY GASOLINE FLATIRON.

Marysville, Cal., July 21. -- Fire this afternoon destroyed a whole block bounded by 'B', Seventh,
'A' and Sixth Streets. Fourteen families are without homes as a result.
Four steamers besides the Southern Pacific yard fire engine were at work and saved the depot and railroad buildings.
The total loss will exceed $50,000.
The losers are:
A. W. Linn, in whose residence the fire started from a gasoline flatiron, $2000.
Mrs. James Gallagher, $1500.
M. Schwab, two-story residence and contents, $5500.
J. Bennett, four flat apartments, $20,000.
Morgan Williams, $2500.
E. J. Goodpasture, $2000.
W. C. Poole, $2000.
Mrs. J. F. Kean, $2000.
Mrs. Susie Slicer, $3500.
Mrs. Murray, two residences, $6000.
Mike Gavin, $1500.
A. C. Powell, $750.
'E' Street grammar school, $1000.
Other minor losses will bring the total to over $50,000.
