Los Angeles, CA Auto Crashes into House, Jun 1935

Woman Asleep in Her Bedroom Is Critically Injured by Car

LOS ANGELES, June 10--(AP)--An automobile plunged down a fifteen-foot embankment today, crashed into a house and wrecked it, and landed in a bedroom where a sleeping woman, Mrs. Augustina Lopez was pinned beneath the front axel of the machine and critically hurt.

Persons who heard the crash and saw the roof of the house collapse, said two men ran away from the scene immediately. A short time later sheriff's officers took into custody Pedro Fernandez, allegedly the owner of the auto.

Fernandez told officers he was not driving the machine and said he was on the way to a police station to report the auto as stolen.
