Williams, AZ School Building Burns, Jan 1912

The handsome public school building at Williams was totally destroyed by fire last Friday night.
The fire originated in one of the gables, probably from a spark from an adjacent chimney. There being no water in the water mains, nothing could be done to save the structure. The loss will amount to approximately $30,000, including furniture, books and apparatus. There was $11,000 insurance on the building.
Plans will be made at once for a new building, but it is hardly probable that work can commence until spring. At present school is being held by the different departments in the Methodist and Catholic churches and in the Odd Fellows Hall.
