LOCOMOTIVE BOILER EXPLODES, KILLING 3
Beckley, W. Va., Aug. 20 - (AP) - The boiler of a freight locomotive, crawling up a lonely valley track, exploded today, killing three trainmen.
The blast tore the boiler from the engine chassis and threw all three men clear of the wreck.
Conductor Blaine Simmons of Rleigh [sic] and Engineman Brown Nunally of Hinton died before rescuers arrived. Burns caused the death of Fireman Ray E. Singer of Oak Hill in a Beckley hospital.
