Eagle Rock, VA Lime Plant Fire, Aug 1908

DESTROYED BY FLAMES.

EAGLE ROCK LIME PLANT AND BANK BURNED, ENTAILING $75,000 LOSS.

Clifton Forge, Va., Aug. 19. -- The cooperage plant and dry kilns of the MOORE Lime Company, at Eagle Rock, the Eagle Rock bank building, two dwellings, and outbuildings were destroyed by fire shortly after midnight, entailing a loss of $75,000.
The town is without fire protection and slow progress was made in getting the fire under control. The bank resumed besiness in another building today.
