NINE LOSE LIVES IN CROSSING CRASH.

FOUR WOMEN AND FOUR CHILDREN KILLED WHEN TRAIN HITS CAR.

Richmond, Va., Nov. 16. - Nine persons were killed at Butterworth Crossing, near Dewitt, Va., tonight when an automobile in which they were riding was struck by a seaboard airline passenger train.
They were J. C. FLIPPEN, white, of Clarksville, Va., and eight negroes - four women and four children.
MR. FLIPPEN, 55 years of age and well known in the Clarksville section, was driving the automobile. He had carried the negroes to the funeral of one of their relatives near Petersburg, Va., and the party was returning to Clarksville.
